The IPDS Scheme launched by MoP, GOI for strengthening of Distribution Infrastructure in the Urban areas will be implemented in 18 Regions of WBSEDCL covering 121 Towns at the total project cost of Rs.2866.76 Crore. 60% of the project cost will be received from MOP, GOI as grant, 25% from GOWB as grant and balance 15% is to be arranged by WBSEDCL.
The broad objective of the scheme is to provide 24x7 quality power supplies for consumers, Reduction of AT&C losses as per trajectory finalized by MOP in consultation with States and providing access to power to all households of the urban area.
